Sharanu, we welcome all the VSNA members to the 48* Convention. We are organizing onsite competitions for our children during the 48th VSNA Convention 2026 held on July 3rd & 4th, 2026, at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St, Sanford, NC 27330. Please make sure to submit entries for Speech, Vachana, Dance, Instrumental Music, Essay Writing and Drawings/Paintings competitions. Experts from outside the local organizing committee will judge all competitions. Some winners of Vachana, Speech, Dance, and Instrumental Music will be presented to the convention audience in the main auditorium. Winners will receive a Trophy and a Certificate. Winning Essays and Drawings/Paintings will be published in our Convention Souvenir. We cordially welcome children’s entries in each category representing our chapters.

Competitions Entry Register
1. Speech Competition: Two topics will be shared closer to the date. Participant can pick one or both and talk about it. It should be related to Veerashaiva-Lingayat History, Faith Related and Way of life along with bonus points. Will be judged on content, delivery, and personal inspiration & application in line with International Toast master’s evaluation methodology.
2. Vachana Competition: Recite or sing any one vachana of any composer. Participant will be judged on
pronunciation, rendition, knowledge of composer, meaning of the vachana, and its application in daily life.
3. Dance Competition: Any devotional or folk dance is welcome, but Veerashaiva-Lingayat related ones will
be given PREFERENCE along with bonus points.
Time limit: 2-5mins. Any form of dance is permissible.
4. Instrumental Music: Any devotional or folk instrumental music is welcome, but Veerashaiva-Lingayat related ones will be given PREFERENCE along with bonus points.
Time limit: 2-5mins. Any type of instrument can be used to render the music.
5. Essay Competition: Five Vachanas will be shared closer to the date. Participant can pick one or more and write about the author and meaning of the vachana and how they can apply these vachanas in their daily life. All essays must be written during the time allotted during the convention and winning essays will be published in the Convention Souvenir.
Time limit: Half an hour and Min one page
6. Drawing/Painting Competition: Drawing or Painting must be drawn by the participant within the time allotted during the convention. Drawing paper will be provided by the organizers and participating children need to bring the coloring pencils or paint needed for the Drawing or Painting
7.Talent Show: talent show acts often rely on comedy, surprise, or exaggerated skill, such as lip-syncing battles, dramatic poetry readings of pop songs, or comedic “how-to” demonstrations. Popular, engaging options include puppet shows, ventriloquism, magic acts, and group performances like “dancing babies” (using a sheet to hide bodies) or troll dances.
Time limit: 2-5 mins.
