We warmly welcome all VSNA members to the 48th VSNA Convention 2026. As part of the convention celebrations on July 3rd and 4th, 2026, we are excited to organize onsite competitions for children in the categories of Vachana, Dance, Essay Writing, and Drawing/Painting. Here’s a polished rephrasing: Selected winners in the Vachana, Dance, Essay Writing, and Drawing/Painting competitions will have the opportunity to showcase their talents before the convention audience in the main auditorium. All participants will receive a certificate of participation, and winners in each category will be honored with a trophy. Additionally, the winning essays and artwork will be featured in the convention souvenir. We cordially invite and encourage children from all chapters to participate enthusiastically and represent their chapters with pride through their entries in each category.

Competitions Entry Register 

1. Vachana RecitalRecite a vachana of your choice. Competitors must include proper pronunciation, knowledge of poet, meaning of the vachana, and its application in daily life.

Time limit: 2 – 5 mins. Age Categories:
  • 5 – 10 years old
  • 10 – 16 years old
Note: Illustrations are encouraged to go with your writing piece. It could be your art work, photograph, etc.

 2. DanceMusic Choice: Any devotional or folk dance is welcome. Veerashaiva-Lingayat related ones will be given PREFERENCE along with bonus points. 

Time limit: 2 – 5 mins. Age Categories:
  • 5 – 8 years old
  • 9 – 13 years old
  • 14 – 17 years old

3. Essay Writing2026 Theme: Sharana Utsav

All essays must be written during the time allotted during the convention.  Winning essays will be published in the Convention Souvenir. Time limit: 40 minutes  Page limit: 1 – 3 pages Age Categories and Respective Prompts:
  • 5 – 8 years old 
    • Write about the message of Dasoha (sharing and caring).
  • 9 – 13 years old
    • Write about the importance of Kayaka (dignity of work).
  • 14 – 17 years old
    • Write about the importance of Spirituality in daily life.
    • Write about the societal reform contributions of Sharanas and Sharanes.
Note: Illustrations are encouraged to go with your writing piece. It could be your art work, photograph, etc.

 4. Drawing/PaintingArtwork must be drawn by the participant within the time allotted during the convention. 

Materials Provided: Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers, Black Sharpies, Pencils, and Eraser Materials Not Provided but Allowed: Pens, Paint, Water Color, Oil Pastels,  Time limit: 30 mins. Age Categories and Respective Topic:
  • 5 – 8 years old 
    • Sharing food (Dasoha)
  • 9 – 13 years old
    • Different professions working together (Kayaka)
  • 14 – 17 years old
    • Spiritual awakening through devotion and self-realisation (Sharanes Societal Transformation)
